A strategy that I have developed for numbering my own artwork. It works for easy access on my computer, tracking when using a database and allows me to identify at a glance when the artwork was created. This article also describes how to organize storage of images on the computer taking into account the way files are sorted on the computer.
As an artist, you may encounter the following situation: you are asked to provide a comma delimited text file containing your client list for a gallery or a show mailing. All your clients are listed in Microsoft Outlook or Outlook Express. When you export your data from one of these programs as a comma delimited text file, and look at it in Excel, you notice that some address fields contain a double or even triple line separated by a carriage return.
